June 2007 — The MEA-MFT has won another award for our “Work That Matters” campaign.

The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) presented the award at its 2007 joint conference of healthcare and public employee divisions held June 14-17, 2007. In fact, AFT used “Work That Matters” as the conference slogan.

This is the fourth national award for Work That Matters. Others include a prestigious Public Service Excellence Award from the national Public Employees Roundtable and two top awards from the NEA Public Relations Council of the States.

Work That Matters — created by MEA-MFT staffers Terry Minow and Sanna Porte, with assistance from both NEA and AFT — educates Montana citizens and legislators about the important services that our members provide for the people of Montana.
