America’s public service loan forgiveness (PSLF) system was broken but now it is fixed.  Thanks to AFT for the lawsuit v. DeVos and to the Biden Administration for taking swift action.  These are just two of many letters received by MFPE members this week–members who had made 120 payments on their loans, are doing Work That Matters in public service across Montana, and had been told they were out of luck for loan forgiveness.

One member wrote “Tonight I got a letter from Fed Loan forgiving all $80k of my student loans. Just POOF and my account balance is zero. I completed grad school in 2007 and have been paying and working at UM ever since. I am in actual shock.”
