Armed with Facts

When your local bargaining team goes to the table to negotiate your salary, benefits, and working conditions, they go prepared, thanks to research and training provided by MFPE’s Research Director, Diane Fladmo.  Diane stays on top of current school and government funding issues, Montana’s state and local revenue systems, and members’ health benefits and pension funding.

She provides important support to MFPE’s local affiliates and MFPE field consultants by constructing salary schedules, modeling bargaining proposals, creating salary schedule comparisons, and mediation. She also supplies facts and figures to support local and community organizing, as well as the numbers that underlie MFPE’s legislative lobbying efforts, health or pension activities, and litigation.

Diane also maintains the MFPE contract analysis and contract database and the school budget and expenditure analysis programs. She is also responsible for compiling the annual MFPE State and Local Classified and K12 Certified and Classified Salary Book.
